The Sum of its Parts brings together three collections of work from an undergraduate research studio inspired by the Swiss theme code of New Glarus. The exhibition features fourteen study models and fourteen corner assembly models built using found model kit parts of alpine buildings, as well as seven drawings of chalet elements and fourteen drawings of their respective arrangements. By representing the Swiss chalet through different means the work shows that learning from New Glarus goes beyond Swiss or American architecture; the Sum of its Parts explores a design methodology for the multiple and evolving forms of a significant building type.

The work shown is by students from the Spring 2022 architecture studio, Learning from New Glarus, and the exhibition design began in a Fall 2023 seminar
